Seniors Match vs Luffenham Heath (away) – Wednesday, September 15th

In their second match in 3 days, the Belton Park Seniors travelled to Luffenham Heath for the return friendly match. In the home fixture back in July, the Belton team won 7-1 and Luffenham fielded a very strong team to try and even up the results.

The weather forecast was for a dry day, unfortunately the weather didn’t quite match our expectations as we had an hour of light rain! The Luffenham course was in excellent condition as the annual greens maintenance hadn’t yet started. The 4th hole green is being replaced, so the 4th hole is now a temporary 130-yard par 3. This has changed the slope rating slightly as the new 4th hole may not be back in play until the end of 2022.

At the halfway point with 4 results in, the match was evenly balanced at 2 games each. The last 4 games also finished with 2 wins for each team, making the overall result a 4-4 draw.

After the excellent post-match lunch, Belton Captain Pete Long praised the excellent condition of the course and thanked the catering staff for an excellent meal.
