Seniors do the double over Milton

On Tuesday, September 3rd, the Seniors entertained the Seniors from Peterborough Milton. Having already beaten Milton in the away match, the Milton team were keen to take revenge. Despite the Captain for the day losing in the top game, followed by the next 2 games also losing, the Belton team fought back to win by 5-3!

The match was played on a superb early autumn day and the course was in excellent condition. The Milton team were very impressed with the fast and smooth greens, similar to their own, but the Belton team had to acclimatise after playing at Luffenham Heath on the previous day where the greens had just been verticut and were very slow!

Judging by the laughter and good banter at the post match lunch, everyone enjoyed the day. The catering staff did a great job of serving an excellent meal and were thanked by the Milton captain Graham Beer for their efforts, and for a superb meal. The post-match game of heads and tails was won by Ken Ackroyd.
