Lady Captain’s Day - June 30th

Sunny skies helped the “Seaside” theme on Sunday for Helen Long’s Lady Captain’s Day. 64 ladies took part in the fun 18 hole Am-Am on Sunday with a special prize for the best dressed team. Seen here are the winners of the best dressed team of; Alice Epton, Jools Talyor, Irene Cogger, and Anna Clark, with Lady Captain Helen Long.

After playing golf with food and drink after nine holes at the halfway house, 69 ladies sat down for a seaside themed meal with table decorations to match and seaside cocktails were served by the bar staff.

As part of the day’s fun, mulligans were for sale at £1 each in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society, which raised £425 on the day.

1st Prize in the 18-hole Am-Am competition with 91 points went to Vicky Grindal, Josie Short, Julie Beanland, and Carol Taylor. 2nd prize was won by Jan Johnson, Sue Mitchell, Jackie Scott, and Norma Howitt. 3rd prize went to Jo Pearson, Anthea Nicol, Enid Maltby, and Lucie Morley.

The best front nine was won by the team of; Carol Steele, Shelley McClelland, Sally Knight, and Ailis Smith. The best back nine was won by the team of; Anna Clark, Jools Talyor, Irene Cogger, and Alice Epton.

The 9-hole competition winners were; Heather Peach, Jeanette Strutt, Pam Mallett, and Cynthia Mills.

Nearest the pins were won by Sue Mitchell and Julie Beanland.

36 men played in a nine-hole Am-Am with the winners taking home prizes of wine and ball markers. The first prize was won by the team of; Adrian Allen, Peter Thacker, Trevor Ireland, and Vince Hamer. In 2nd place was the team of; Colin Mason, Phil Mallett, Ken Reilly, and John Thompson. Lincolnshire amateur champion Jack Diment won the nearest the pin for the men!
