96 ladies from 23 different golf clubs, took part in the annual Ladies Spring Open on Saturday,May 11th. After the weather in the previous days everyone was keeping their fingers crossed for some better weather and we weren’t disappointed. Volunteers served homemade cakes and refreshments at the Half way house to players after nine holes.
Any raffle tickets bought and donations on the day were for the Lady Captain’s charity, The Alzheimer’s society, and these totalled £442. Afterwards the ladies enjoyed a two course meal before departing home.
1st prize went to Jackie Scott and Sheila Mason with 42 points on countback, with Loraine Howd & Jane Smeeton coming 2nd, also on 42 points.
