The annual John Peberdy Cup, which is a 4-person AMAM (2 to count) open to both members and guests, was won with an amazing score of 96 stableford points over the Brownlow course at Belton Park on Saturday 1st September. The winning team were members Andy Trotter, Robert Pask and Bruce Macfarlane and Adrian Sleaford from Sudbrooke Moor Golf Club. In a high scoring competition, the second placed team scored 91 points.
There were 28 teams playing the course in lovely sunny warm weather. The course was in excellent condition having benefited from the recent rainfall.
Club Captain Colin Mason was delighted to welcome Judy Peberdy, together with other members of her family, to the presentation and carvery meal after play. Judy donated the Cup back in 2001 in memory of her late husband. Judy’s son Richard spoke about his father’s love of the game and fondness for the golf club. His daughters Eva and Alexi presented the trophy to the winning team. 2nd: C Hine, P Adams, S Smellie, T Hounsfield 91 points
3rd: G Feasby, S Glenn, M Green, M Loveridge 88 points
