Following a lot of hard work, the new halfway hut is open for business. It will be open for refreshments on a Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 2.30pm - there are some dates that it will be operated by our Ladies Section, this Sunday (13th May) being an example.
We sought the opinions of the membership and have tweaked the range of products in line with your views. The facility will be offering sausage or bacon baps, a range of pastry items, including sausage rolls and pies and pasties from Watkins Butchers. There will also be fresh fruit, confectionery and hot & cold drinks.
We sincerely hope the membership are able to support this facility.
The Management Committee would like to record their thanks to the following people, without whom, it would not have been possible;
~ Derek Bashford for co-ordinating the project and doing the vast majority of the labour. Ably assisted by his wife, Yvonne.
~ Lee Carratt, Nathaniel "Spike" Smith and the greens staff for removing the old hut, preparing the pipe work, laying the base and also for assisting Derek with the heavy work.
~ Sheila Garrick for donating the kitchen units
~ Spike Carr and his company for supplying the sinks, toilets and fittings.
~ Yvonne Bashford and Jackie Scott for cleaning the kitchen units and fridges before the opening day.
~ Nic Banner and Chris Duggan for co-ordinating the launch of the facility
