Gents Match Reports

On 15th May the Gents’ Spring Open took place with 66 players competing in pairs for the Rothwell Lee Cup (Foursomes Stableford) in the morning and the Hemswell Cup (Better Ball Stableford) in the afternoon.

The weather was good on the fair which provided an ideal opportunity for the visitors to experience the course in its most acceptable condition. Scores were equally impressive with prizes awarded for the Top 5 pairs in both competitions. They were as follows:

Rothwell Lee Cup  

1st     40 points     Ian Allsopp & Jack Allsopp (On Countback)

2nd  40 points      Douglas Jackson & Graham Townsend

3rd    36 Points      James Middleton & Steven Nicholls (On Countback)

4th    36 Points      Adrian Dobney & Martin Eldred (On Countback)

5th    36 Points       Joshua Creed & Kevin Shelton (On Countback)

The father and son partnership of Ian and Jack Allsopp received the newly refurbished trophy which was won with 40points on countback.

Hemswell Cup

1st    43 points       Russell Bunnage & Ashley Curtis

2nd    42 points       Ian Kirby & Matthew Etches (on Countback)

3rd    42 points      James Middleton & Steven Nicholls (on Countback)

4th    42 points      Graham Townsend & Douglas Jackson

5th      41 points       Ian Allsopp & Jack Allsopp (On Countback)
