Belton Park Golf Club members this week hosted golfers from around the globe on what was a fantastic days golf. Players came from as far away as Bath, Selby and even one player from New York (US).
On a very warm day, only spoilt by a deluge of rain for the final 2 or 3 holes of the afternoon round, players did not disappoint with the scoring.
The morning round was won by Marcus Wallis and Stan Hutchinson (Norwood Park GC) with 43 points. In 2nd place with 42 points on count-back were Steve & Graham Turton (Radcliffe on Trent GC), from Adrian & Julian Allen (The Warwickshire).
In the afternoon round the scoring was even more impressive with John Clark & Ian Jacob (Atherstone GC) amassing a very good total of 47 pts. Second were Nat Neal & Malcom Turner (Belton Woods) on 46 points and third were Gerry Taylor & Eddie Plant (Stoke Rochford GC) with 41 points.
The highlight for many of the afternoon players was an impromptu fly past by a Hurricane from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
