Fizzy Fridays are back! Starting this Friday

We are holding our first Fizzy Friday event this week on 28th May. The weather forecast is excellent so it's the ideal time to come along and have a game with our Captains, Andy and Janet. The 9 Hole Texas Scramble will be taking place on the Ancaster course, and will be open to all including junior and academy players.

You can make up your own team of four or alternatively, just turn up and you will be put into a draw for teams. To be in with a chance of winning a prize, entry for the event is just £2 per per person. After your round there will be a selection of food specials as seen in the menu attachment below. If this does interest you, could you please call the bar to make your food order by 12:00pm 27th May.

As time is limited there is no need to sign up on the entry sheet, just simply turn up at 4.00 pm on Friday and enjoy the evening sunshine by taking the opportunity to meet and play with other members.

Seniors vs Stanton-on-the-Wolds (home) - May 25th

The Belton Park Seniors team played their second home match of the season against Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC on Tuesday, May 25th. The weather was pretty awful with rain on and off all morning, plus a strong breeze! The match was played on the Belmont course (holes 10-27) which was in lovely condition. The top match between the two Captains and their partners was halved with the Belton Captain missing a putt to win the match on the last hole! The remaining matches were either won or lost by fairly big margins, but the Belton Park team were the eventual winners by a score of 5½ to 2½.

After the match the teams enjoyed a 2-course lunch in the Brownlow suite.

The winning team was the “Agatha Quiz team” consisting of Gillian and Richard Claxton, Elizabeth Thompson, Chris Warby and Simon Denton. Pictured here are Simon Denton and Richard Claxton, receiving their prizes on behalf of the team from Gents Captain Andy Macgowan.

Ladies thought to the next round of the Tasker Trophy

Belton Park Ladies Tasker Trophy team have won both their home (5-2) and away matches (6½-½) against Radcliffe-on-Trent. The next round is away to Erewash in Derbyshire.

The total combined score from both the home and the away match was an outstanding win for Belton Park 11½ - 2½!

The weather was kind for the home match, and it was a great result, but the weather for the away match was awful, but despite the awful weather, the team managed a great win!

The Tasker Trophy is an inter club knock out competition for players over 50 years of age. The proceeds from the entry fees go directly to support junior golf in the county that each club represents. The Tasker Trophy is supported by the Lincolnshire Women’s Golf Association. The competition consists of Teams of 7 ladies over 50 years of age with a handicap of less than 28. Congratulations to the Ladies team for getting through to the next round!
