On Friday 3rd August the top Lincolnshire junior golfers competed around the Brownlow course for the Woodroffe Walter Cups and the Belton Park Open. The competitions were played over 36 holes in hot and sunny weather.
The boys competition was won by Belton Park member Olly Mitchell who recorded 146 shots for the two rounds, 4 over par. Olly who plays for Belton Park’s first team with a 3 handicap said “I am delighted with this win on my home course”.
The girls completion was won by Ellie Haughton from Greetham Valley Golf Club with a level par score of 146.
The net competition for the Belton Park Open was won by Dylan Welford from Cleethorpes Golf club with a score of 136.
The presentations to the winners were made by Les Toyne, President of Lincolnshire Golf Union and Colin Mason Captain of Belton Park Golf Club. In his speech, Les thanked the club for hosting the event and complemented the green staff on the quality and presentation of the course in the current dry conditions.
