The Belton Park Club team played its last match of the season at home against local rivals Newark Golf Club on Saturday 30th September. The weather was autumnal, matched by the glorious changing trees around the course.
The course remained in excellent condition as it has been throughout the summer season.
The Belton players particularly enjoyed themselves, achieving nearly a clean sweep with 7 victories and a draw in the eight matches played. In match 5, Ben Bayliss partnered by Chris Duggan came out worthy winners by 4 holes with three to play against his son Michael and partner Bob Nugent.

After a good carvery meal, Belton Park Vice Captain Colin Mason welcomed the visitors and presented Newark with a copy of the “Belton Park Golf Club 125th Anniversary” Book.
In response Newark Vice Captain Kevin Ferguson thanked Belton for its hospitality, praised the golf course and congratulated the Belton team upon its excellent golf throughout the afternoon.
