Belton Park Golf Club: Seniors
The Section was formed in 1975 so that members of Belton Park Golf Club who have reached the age of 60 years and are largely retired are able to meet once a week to enjoy a sociable game of golf with new or long standing friends. We achieve this by participating in weekly 'out of the bag' draws for match play friendlies, monthly 3ball Stablefords, for which there are prizes, summer matches aginst local clubs, both home and away, and periodic named competitions. Some of these events are accompanied by lunch and we enjoy other social events which may sometimes include dinner.
The Club courteously allows us use of the course on Tuesdays at specific times and we are asked to ensure that golf etiquette and the facilities are maintained to the usual Belton Park standards.
The Section is open to all BPGC members who are 60 and over, retired and/or are available to play regularly on a Tuesday. There is a small annual subscription.
The Section is administered by a small committee of 6, consisting of the Seniors: Captain, Vice Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past Captain and a member representative. There are currently some 98 members of the Seniors Section.
