The 22nd Belton Park GC Charity Am Am
Blessed with a sunny day and a course in excellent condition 172 players took part in Belton Park GCs annual Charity Golf Day, sponsored by SBH Radiators, helping to raise over £7000 for Diabetes UK and English Blind Golf. The days golf included an 18-hole Am Am Competition followed by a nine-hole Texas Scramble. To conclude the evening a Draw sponsored by The Reindeer Inn, Long Bennington raised the record sum of £680.

House News
Clubhouse display The reorganisation of club memorabilia and records, although proving to be a rather protracted exercise, has met with positive comments to date and should be completed in the near future. Further to this, the Management Committee has provisionally agreed to the purchase of replacement competition honours boards to be phased-in subject to availability of funds.
Other projects The fireplace - many members will be pleased to hear that the House Committee has been given the go ahead to initiate the reinstallation of the clubroom fireplace. Options in hand.
The scorers box plans are also in hand to provide access to the area behind the fireplace from the course entrance. This area is currently underused and would provide a much more accessible facility for competition participants both from the course and the clubhouse.
Captains Report
This year's Captain's Day event will be an AM/AM with a draw for the teams. There will also be a separate par 3 prize and longest drives and nearest the pins in 2 categories, one for handicaps 9 and under and one for 10 and over. Just 2 weeks later there is the Help for Heroes (H4H's)/Pro Day competition. This will be a singles Stableford event for both ladies and men with the top 10 scores in each representing the Club in the National H4H's Day. The top 6 clubs in this event will spend a weekend at the Belfry and all 10 players, should we reach this stage, will be guaranteed good prizes; the top prize being a week in a 5* golfing hotel in Tunisia. Please support both these events as all the proceeds from Captain's Day and most from the H4H's/Pro's Day will go to the H4H's charity. In addition, on the H4H's/Pro's Day you will have the opportunity to take on the pro at one of the par 3s.

Course Marshalling amid concerns of non-payment of green fees, members should be aware that there will be random spot checks over the coming weeks. It would be beneficial to the marshals if your bag tag with appropriately coloured year sticker were clearly visible.
